Zella M. Caves

Zella Margie Marie Caves age 89 of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, April 19, 2009 peacefully from the arms of her loving family to the loving arms of her Lord. She was born on March 15, 1920 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Hugh A. and Lillian (Robertson) Mink. She attended schools in Joy and Wynnewood, Oklahoma. One of her favorite subjects to talk about was playing basketball as a young girl. She loved the sport and was a great player. Her future husband, Clark Caves was 9 years old when Zella was born, and he always teased that he knew her all of her life and had to let her grow up to marry her. They were married on January 6, 1940. Clark and Zella had a wonderful marriage and were blessed with six handsome sons. After the first child, Zella wondered when she was going to get her girl. It was not meant to be, but she eventually had six wonderful daughters-in-law who loved Zella and Clark very much. Zella and Clark enjoyed 38 happy years before his death. Zella had her family reunions every Thanksgiving to enjoy her family being together. She loved to watch the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Zella loved her family and her church. Her strong sense of independence and strength will be forever with us. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clark and one son, Phillip. Mrs. Caves is survived by: Sons and Daughters-in-Law – H. A. and Leona Caves of Norman, Oklahoma; Clint and Sandy Caves of Christoval, Texas; Jimmy and Paula Caves of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Shirley Caves of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Terry Caves of Wichita Falls, Texas; and Joe and Theresa Caves of Muskogee, Oklahoma Brother – Doyle Mink and his wife Mildred of Kingston, Oklahoma Sister-in-Law – Oleta Mink of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma 10 Grandchildren 10 Great-Grandchildren 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren Numerous nieces, nephews and friends Funeral services for Mrs. Caves are scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley with Rev. Terry Mott officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
