Vernon Edward "Skeeze" Tillery of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to John Marcus and Lizzie Arvella (Chennault) Tillery on June 28, 1933, in Antioch, Oklahoma and passed from this life on April 5, 2023, in Sulphur, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years.
Skeeze grew up and attended school at Davis school, Maysville, and Elmore City. During high school, he was the recipient of the Lions Club swine program. He was saved and baptized at Satterwhite Missionary Baptist Church in August of 1954 and ordained as a Deacon on his birthday on June 28, 1963.
On May 7, 1954, Skeeze married the love of his life, Jeanetta Rae Welcher in Norman, Oklahoma. Together they have lived in the same location all of their married life except the short time of living in Iota, Louisiana and Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Skeeze worked as a production foreman in the oil and gas industry, retiring in 2019. He enjoyed raising durocs, quail hunting, fishing, and any activity that involved his grandkids and great grandkids.
The highlights of Skeeze's life were his family attending church at Satterwhite and spending time with his family during the holidays. He taught others the value of family, work ethic, love each other, and love the Lord.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, papa, and friend. He will be missed by many.
