Stephen Paul Blanscet

Stephen Paul Blanscet was born on October 07, 1935 in Sayre, Oklahoma to James Andrew and Nellie (Stroud) Blanscet and passed from this life on Sunday, December 25, 2011 in Pauls Valley at the age of 76 years. Paul grew up in Sayre and attended Reydon High School. Later he went to Amarillo, Texas where he was employed by Furr Food Distributing Warehouse. He then moved to the west coast where he began working with the U. S. Navy. On February 19, 1962, Paul married Marilyn June Roach in Oxnard, California. After Paul retired from the Navy in 1990, he and Marilyn moved to the Elmore City community in the fall of 1996. Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elmore City where he taught an adult men’s Sunday school class. Paul enjoyed coin collecting. He followed the dog show route for a few years and enjoyed showing his dogs. He loved running his few head of cattle. Paul also took pleasure in camping, boating and fishing, and he and Marilyn especially enjoyed their home away from home on the Colorado River. The highlight of Paul’s life was his family. Paul taught others to appreciate what you have and to conserve energy by “turning off the lights when they aren’t being used”. The most important difference he wanted to make in another person’s life was to have that person come to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior and for us to appreciate our many blessings. Perhaps more than coincidence took Paul home to be with his savior on Jesus’ birthday. Paul is preceded in death by his parents James Andrew and Nellie (Stroud) Blanscet; his brothers James Blanscet and Elmer Lloyd Blanscet; and his sister Juanita Pena. He is survived by: His wife – Marilyn Blanscet His son – Stephen Michael Blanscet 2 daughters – Paulette Marie Hernandez and her husband Raphael Armando; Karen Elizabeth Blanscet 3 Grandchildren – Diego, Elias and Graciela Hernandez 2 Sisters – Madge Duke and Ellen Cunningham 1 Brother – Thomas Blanscet Funeral services for Paul Blanscet are scheduled for Thursday, December 29, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Elmore City with Dr. Bruce McCray officiating.
