Sarah Marguerite Moody

Sarah Marguerite Moody of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Albert Lee and Ethel (Edwards) Brewer on April 28, 1920 in Elmore City, Oklahoma and passed from this life on March 15, 2010 in Lindsay, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 15 days. Marguerite grew up and attended school in Elmore City. On June 13, 1939, she married Truman Moody in Elmore City. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Together they made their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico and later moved to Galveston, Texas and Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. In 1948, Truman and Marguerite moved to Elmore City. She was a member of the Elmore City First Baptist Church, Eastern Star, the 20th Century Club of Elmore City. Marguerite and Truman were charter members of the American Paint Horse Association. In her spare time she enjoyed needle work including the almost lost art of cut work embroidery. She supported her husband in his promotional activities and endeavors including producing Wild West shows in Six Flags Over Texas and Horse Concessions at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. The highlight of her life was caring for and serving her family. Special thanks to Wilma Johnson for her many visits and time spent sitting with Leah and Marguerite. The family would also like to give a special thank you to Dr. Westcott, Christine Craig, P.A., Valley Hospice, Wilma Johnson, Art Lewis, Bro. Bruce McCray, and the Lindsay Manor employees. Mrs. Moody is survived by: Son: Willard Moody and his wife Donna of Casa Grande, Arizona Daughter: Leah Kennedy and her husband Joe of Lindsay, Oklahoma 4 grandchildren: Charlotte Kennedy Apel and her husband Chris of Moore, Oklahoma Bobby Moody and his wife Colette of Roswell, New Mexico Kristi Kennedy Herd and her husband Jon of Paoli, Oklahoma Joe Wayne Moody of Casa Grande, Arizona 7 great-grandchildren: Carlee, Cole and Channing Apel of Moore, Oklahoma Mycah and Jacob Moody of Roswell, New Mexico Sarah and Anna Herd of Paoli, Oklahoma Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by: Her husband: Truman Moody on January 20, 1994 Her parents: Albert and Ethel Brewer 4 sisters: Charlotte Combs, Rowena Harrison, Pauline Graves Combs and Ethel Marie Hunter
