Robert Olen "Bob" Brooks, Jr. was born February 12, 1955 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to Robert Olen Brooks and Imogene Simmons Brooks. He departed this life on August 8, 2023 in Norman, Oklahoma, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob grew up in the country southwest of Pauls Valley and graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1973. He attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. He was a member of OSU's nationally recognized meat judging team while in Stillwater. Thereafter he attended law school at University of Tulsa and graduated with his juris doctorate in 1982. He made his home in the Pauls Valley area and practiced law for many years. He enjoyed all things outdoors, particularly hunting and working with cattle on the ranch. His daughter, Tori, was the joy of his life. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Houston Brooks and Alma Faye Ward Brooks, and Lee Bob Simmons and Alice Simmons; parents, Robert Olen Brooks and Imogene Simmons Brooks; one brother, Edwin Brooks. He is survived by: one daughter, Victoria (Tori) Brooks, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; sister and brother-in law, Belva Brooks Barber and Russell Barber, of Poteau, Oklahoma; brother Stacy Brooks of Decatur, Arkansas; sister Beverly Brooks of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, as well as numerous nieces, a nephew, family and many friends. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 12, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 108 Loftin Lane, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Rev. David Brooks officiating. Pallbearers are: Kim Ashley, Larry Bob Ashley, Larry Balcerak, Carson Brooks, Darryl Rose, and Eric Rowlett. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley, with visitation scheduled Friday, August 11, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wooster Funeral Home Chapel, 1601 S. Chickasaw Street, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
