Pearlie Murphy was born to Myrtle Lee and Eddie Anderson on July 10, 1950. She departed this life at St. Anthony's Hospital, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She joined Flipper Chapel AME Church at an early age, where she attended during her childhood years.
She attended Dunbar Elementary, and later PVHS, where she graduated in 1968. Upon graduation, she attended Hill's School of Business.
Pearlie united in marriage to Leonard Cushenberry, where together they raised 4 children.
She worked at Glow-Lite Corp for many years, and lastly at the Pauls Valley Sate School until her marriage to Lenwood Murphy, at which time she quit to become a full-time housewife, and extended her family with 5 stepsons, and 3 stepdaughters.
Pearlie enjoyed crafts of all kinds, canning, baking, cooking, and going to the casino. She loved music, road trips, and frequenting casinos. Her most requested dish was her okra gumbo casserole. She also enjoyed garage selling. Her favorite new tradition that she looked forward to was baking cookies on Christmas Eve with her daughters and granddaughters. She had a genuine love for her paparazzi jewelry which she wore every day.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 28 years, Lenwood Murphy; her son, Steve Anderson (Dana) of Loganville, Georgia; daughters: Kimberly Glover (Woody) of Edmond; Katina Cushenberry of Oklahoma City; Jamie Davis (Marcoe) of Oklahoma City. Three sisters: Ruth Hatton (Ray) of Tulsa; Veralyne Anderson of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Jacqueline Anderson of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and 1 brother: Ricky Jackson of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. 17 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pearlie will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled 11:00 am on September 12, 2023, at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Ford officiating. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. You may send a condolence to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com .
