Nelda "Nena" E. (Pilgrim) Driskill, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, passed away on August 30, 2026, her 84th birthday. The youngest child of William and Nora Pilgrim, Nena was born August 30, 1942, in Pittsburg, Texas before traveling and working throughout Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Beginning with her first job at Pittsburg Dairy Twist, developing into a runway model in a prestigious clothing line in Houston, and coordinator for the Republican Party, she finally fulfilled her passion as an esthetician throughout her 60s and 70s. Nena was the beloved wife of Harrell Driskill, with whom she shared many years of marriage, and a life filled with family, faith, love, and cherished memories before he passed. Nena's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother and is survived by four children: Debbie and Blane Campbell of Wichita Falls, Texas, Todd and Melanie Chance of Sequin, Texas, David and Christy Cassell of Elmore City, Oklahoma, and DeNena and Mike Smith of Elmore City, Oklahoma. Her family grew tremendously through the years, bringing her many grandchildren to love and cherish, including Sarah, Rebecca, Danielle, Nathan, Shayna, Michael, Chris, Jeremy, Cameron, Tanner, Brandt, Tristan, Korie, Kaylie, Kole, and Kaleb. Her great-grandchildren include Ryan, Keeley, Clayton, Ruth, Paige, Addison, Ellie, Eva, Natalie, Madilynn, Hunter, Jackson, Anastasia, Londyn, Ember, Bobby, Clara, Somer, Kyler, Sage, Jessa, Jolie, Karter, Weston, Asher, Colt, Kaesin, JD, and Briella. A woman of strong faith who willingly shared with others, Nena faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher at Beaty Baptist Church, where she had the opportunity to encourage, teach, and touch the lives of others through her love of the Lord. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and the lessons she shared will remain in the hearts of those she taught. Nena will be remembered for her deep love of family, her generous heart, and her steadfast faith. She found joy in watching her family grow and in being a loving presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her passing leaves a deep emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her. Yet her legacy of faith and love will continue through the lives she touched. The lessons she taught, the prayers she prayed, and the love she gave will live on through generations to come. Nena will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family, friends, church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Mindy White, Brenda Garza, Stormy Jones, and Brenda Jones; and the care and compassion given by Lifespring Home Health Care and Crosstimbers Hospice. Until we meet again, may she rest in the arms of her Savior.
