Melissa Dawn King (West), age 54, of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024.
Melissa was born on October 8, 1970, to Roy and Betty West in San Antonio, Texas. She had a zest for life; growing up, she knew no strangers. She was active in softball, tennis, and band during her school years. Known for her generosity, Melissa often worked two jobs during the Christmas holidays to buy her friends and family the perfect gifts. Her primary occupation was apartment management but blessed with an artistic gift, she showcased her crafting talents at many arts and crafts venues.
Melissa is missed by her father Roy West, son Zachary King, sister Pam Thompson, brother-in-law Bill Thompson, nephew William Thompson, and aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Betty West and grandmothers Sybil Leach and Juanita Neighbors. A funeral service will be held on November 1, 2024, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood , beginning at 11:00 AM.
Tragically, an accident dimmed Melissa's bright spirit in 2011 before her passing, but her warmth, kindness, and joy will continue to glow in the hearts of all she touched.
