M. E. Ivey

M. E. Ivey was born in Wynnewood, Oklahoma on November 11, 1939 to Virgil and Cora Ivey. M. E. passed fromthis life on June 14, 2012 at Sulphur, Oklahoma. M. E. attended school at Roady and Wynnewood View. M. E. worked in the oil field for many years. He was married to Carolyn Moore in Duncan, Oklahoma and together they raised their children in this area. M. E. loved the Lord and had a deep faith in God. He spent many hours reading his Bible and his family often heard him praying to God in his times of worship. His favorite scripture was John 3:16. “For God loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” M. E. was deeply devoted to his family and loved them very much, always putting them first. M. E. loved the outdoors and he enjoyed coon hunting and hog hunting. One of his favorite things to do was to get on his four-wheeler with his granddaughter Karlee and go hunting. He loved to spend time with Karlee and she brought joy to his heart. He loved her very much and she loved her Papa. M. E.’s grandson, Mickey also held a very special place in his heart. M. E. is survived by his wife Carolyn, of the home. Two sons, Mark and his wife Lisa of Hennepin; Monte and his wife Kay of Wynnewood; Two grandchildren, Karlee Ivey of Hennepin; Mickey Ivey and his wife Trisha of Davis; One great-grandson, Rickey Ivey of Davis; One Sister, Shirley Wright and her husband Danny of Lovington, New Mexico; Six Step-grandchildren, Annie, Misty, David, Aimee’, Rachel, Jonathan; 16 Step-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. M. E. was preceded in death by his parents: Virgil and Cora Ivey, two sons, M. E. Ivey, Jr. and Ricky Ivey; Brother, Jack Ivey; Sister, Pearlene, Darlene and Virginia; Step-grandson, Darron Potts. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Katie Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Beckmon officiating. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
