Martin Jerome Fogle

Martin Jerome Fogle was born on December 30, 1947, in New London, Connecticut, to James W. Fogle Sr. and Maxine (Parent) Fogle. He passed from this life on May 8, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Martin grew up in North Liberty, Indiana, where he was known for being ornery and full of life. He played the clarinet in the school band and especially loved pestering his brother. As a young man, he enjoyed camping, swimming, and picking berries—though he often ate more berries than he picked. He graduated from North Liberty High School in 1966. On February 22, 1975, Martin married the love of his life, Connie Gayle (Courtney) Fogle. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and hard work. Martin’s career journey reflected his dedication and strong work ethic. He first worked as a mortician in Indiana before serving four years in the United States Army, where he was an aide to a general in Rio de Janeiro. After his military service, he worked at Dillard’s, where he met Connie. He later became a District Manager for Burlington Coat Factory for several years and following a brief retirement attempt, Martin joined Home Depot in Moore, Oklahoma, where he worked for more than 13 years and made many lasting friendships. Above all else, Martin cherished his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He took great pride in maintaining a beautiful yard and could often be found mowing, edging, and weed eating to keep everything just right. He was also known for making delicious spaghetti and chicken and dumplings that his family loved. Martin had a creative and thoughtful spirit, often making flower arrangements for his daughter Courtney’s home and for the graves of loved ones. Martin will be remembered for his sense of humor, hardworking nature, loving heart, and the many special memories he created with those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a family who will forever treasure his love and legacy. Martin is survived by his wife of the home, Connie Gayle; Daughter, Courtney Carpenter and husband Caleb of Okarche, Oklahoma; Son, Jerome’ Fogle and wife Jami of Mulhall, Oklahoma; Brother, Gary Fogle and wife Susan of Harrah, Oklahoma; Sisters-in-law, Beth Courtney of Elmore City, Oklahoma, Sandra Bumgarner and husband Larry of Kingston, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Jace Fogle of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Joci Fogle of Mulhall, Oklahoma, Cam Carpenter and Emma McFall of Okarche and Mulhall, Oklahoma, Calan Carpenter of Okarche, Oklahoma; and a host of other family and friends. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maxine Fogle and Brother, J.W. Fogle; and Grandmother, Elsie Hooper. Graveside services for Martin will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Oaklawn Cemetery with Joe Terrell officiating.
