Maria de Jesus Santos (Jessie) was born in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico on June 12, 1931 to Silvestre Santos and Augustina Simmons and passed from her earthly life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Pauls Valley with her loving family at her side.
Maria spent her working career as a cook in restaurants. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, doing needle point and sewing. Maria's legacy was her love and care of her family, and they were the highlight of her life, especially the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Hers was a life well lived.
Her legacy lives on through her sons: Alejandro, Gumesindo, Alegundo, Celso; her daughters: Maria Irma, Yolanda, Maria de Jesus, Rocio; her brothers: Roberto, Gildardo, Leopoldo, Fernando; her sister Teresa Salazar; 34 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and6 great-great-grandchildren.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband Isidro Alvarado; parents Silvestre Santos and Augustina Simmons; sisters Maria de los Angeles Santos and Consepcion Santos.
A Rosary will be held on Friday, November 26 at 5:00 p.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 27 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Pauls Valley. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
