Lucretia "Lou" (Murray) Jones was born on March 19, 1948 to J.C. "Choc" Murray and Annabelle (Williams) Murray in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Lou passed from this life on August 20, 2024 surrounded by her family at the age of 76.
When Lou was younger she was raised on the family's farm so she was known to always lend a helping hand with the chores and work around the farm. Lou attended Pauls Valley High School and graduated in 1966 then attended college at Oklahoma State University. Lou married the love of her life Vernon Jones in Durango, Colorado on August 16, 1994. Lou spent a large portion of her career working for Aflac in the Insurance industry. When she was not at work, Lou loved shopping, working on the flower beds or in the yard, she loved her dogs and horses, and she loved her children and grandchildren. Lou attended the Pauls Valley Church of Christ, where she was always very generous to other people and was well-known for being a hardworking Christian woman. Lou was a good example in life and was happy. She will be missed by all those who loved her.
Lou is survived by her husband, Vernon Jones of the home; Sons, Shane Cosner, Cody Cosner, Casey Jones; Daughter, Christina Whitefield; Brother, Joe Murray; numerous grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Lou is preceded in death by her parents, J.C. "Choc" Murray and Annabelle (Williams) Murray.
Services for Lou are going to be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with Pastor Joe Terrell officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Thursday, August 22, 2024 and Friday, August 23, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
