June Lorraine (Applen) Doss of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Jeanne (Gentry) Cox and Cecil Applen on January 23, 1943, in Peoria, Illinois and passed from this life on January 27, 2024, in Elmore City, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years.
June was raised by her mother and her beloved stepfather, George Cox. On June 24, 1961, June married Valton H. Doss in Chillicothe, Illinois. Together they made their home in Illinois, and California before finally settling in Elmore City, Oklahoma.
June was an avid reader and especially loved her daily Bible study with her best friend. She enjoyed sewing, jewelry making and painting. The highlights of her life were aggravating Valton, traveling across the country with Valton and her children and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Elmore City, Oklahoma with Chris Talley officiating.
