Joyce Helen Watson of Wynnewood, Oklahoma was born July 11, 1942, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Orvis "Peewee" Carter and Helen (Pettitt) Carter. She passed from this life on February 26, 2023, at the age of 80 years.
Joyce attended Wynnewood High School and graduated in 1960. Joyce married Phillip Watson on September 3, 1960. Of that marriage they had two children, Chris Watson and Stacy Hall. Joyce was an only child, but considered Louis Carter of Ninnekah, Oklahoma to be her brother. They are not only first cousins, but double cousins. Joyce worked in retail for many years, she owned a dress shop in Davis, OK and she managed the Subway in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma for 12 years. Joyce loved her family more than anything. Her kids and their families meant the world to her. Being together during the holidays or anytime in between was something she always looked forward too. Her greatest joy was being a Mimi. Joyce attended the House Church in Pauls Valley. She was a friend to many, and those friendships meant a lot to her. Joyce is survived by her children; Chris and Pam Watson of Durant, Ok; Stacy and Mark Hall of Lindsay, OK; 6 grandchildren, Linzey Watson, Logan Watson, Allison Hall, Layne and Becca Watson, and Caleb Hall; and two great grandchildren Ansleigh Watson and Alice Watson. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, and her husband Phillip Watson.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023, at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma with Pastor Brandon Henry officiating. You may send a condolence to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com .
