Obituary

Joyce Elaine Tolbert entered this life on November 19, 1926 and joined her husband Bob in eternal life on January 30, 2021 surrounded by her family at their home in Pauls Valley, OK.
Joyce spent her childhood days dancing and socializing with friends. She attended Southwestern in Georgetown. During the 1945-1946 school year she met Robert Tolbert, and the two quickly began a love that would last a lifetime.
They were married on August 29, 1947 and the rest is history. Joyce told her grandchildren that it must have been true love because it stuck.
They spent the rest of their years raising their two kids Julie and Brett, and later their grandchildren. Bob farmed and ran Tolbert's insurance and loans while Joyce taught Sunday School and also was a substitute teacher. Joyce also loved gardening, shopping and especially spending time with her husband Bob.
They were both fierce believers of Christ and were very active in the Methodist Church and most recently attending Crossroads. They enjoyed many ups and survived some unimaginable downs, but through it all they clung to each other and their love.
Mrs. Tolbert is survived by: daughters, Julie Yates and adopted daughter, Brenda Anderson; grandchildren, Paul Yates, April Ulloa (Sergio), Robert Tolbert (Aimee), Rebecca Tolbert ; great-grandchildren, Shelby Annis, Sam Yates, Evie Yates, Tyler Shreve (Melina) Reese Shreve, Natalie Shreve, Autumn Tolbert, Mason Tolbert, Braylen Tolbert, Lexi Tolbert and Taylee Tolbert; great-great-grandchildren, Marek Shreve and Jorah Shreve.
Preceded in death by husband Robert, son, Brett Tolbert, grandson Joshua Tolbert, her brother Rodney Brumfield, and sister Francis Brumfield and her parents.
