Obituary

Jo Ree Bird Bromley, age 94—formerly of Elmore City and Pauls Valley, Oklahoma—passed to her heavenly home May 23, 2021.

Jo Ree was born in Marshall, Texas to Elva Gracie Elledge and Joseph William Bird. She married Lawrence Edward (Bill) Bromley on June 5, 1948; the same month, they moved to Antioch, Oklahoma, where Bill worked for Warren Petroleum (Gulf). After the birth of their son Bill Raydon, they moved to Elmore City, Oklahoma. Throughout Bill's school years, Jo Ree volunteered as a homeroom mother, worked in the concession stands at school events, and never missed an athletic event in which young Bill participated.

Jo Ree delighted in her faith and her family—especially her granddaughter Lauren, who was a special gift she and Bill loved and treasured.

She was preceded in death by Bill, her husband of 49 years. She is survived by her son Bill and his wife Dana of Tulsa; her sister Dorothy Bird Gwin of Nashville; her granddaughter Lauren Shai Bromley of Moore; her nephew Clint Gwin, his wife Renee, and their daughter Taylor of Nashville; and nephew Al Harris and his wife Pat of Hawkins, Texas; cousins in TX and AZ and many special friends.

The earthly vessel that held Jo Ree's soul was laid to rest at the Pauls Valley Cemetery, next to her beloved husband Bill, whom she treasured and missed daily for almost 24 years.
