Obituary

JAMES JUNIOR HURLEY of Pauls Valley, OK grew up in the mountains of Colorado with his father, Jack Turner. They later settled in Texas. He was proud of being the grandson of the man who owned Turner Tamales, which were very popular in that area of the world.
James came to Pauls Valley, OK at the age of 16 years. It was there he met his mother, Mary Jane Medcalf and his sisters. It was for him quite a shock to learn his last name was really Hurley. He always said not knowing this earlier was the reason for such a difficult time obtaining his driver's license.
Twenty five years ago he had an accident injuring his neck and was permanently paralyzed from the waist down. He was confined to a wheelchair and was "crazy on wheels" in his electric wheelchair. He loved life, the carnival scene, and he loved women. He encouraged others to live life to the fullest and enjoy the little things. His hobbies included fishing, watching football and playing poker.
Those who loved him most and are left to cherish the great memories of his special personality are nieces, Renee Loper and Leann Loper, nephews, Edward Loper, James Loper and Hunter Loper, brother-in-law, Ray Loper, and sister, Myzella Cordell. He was preceded in death by his sister Eva Selmen.
James Junior Hurley ended his earthly journey on Friday, June 3, 2022.
