James Crawford

James Andrew Crawford of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born on April 29, 1930 in Konawa, Oklahoma to John Oscar and Clara Mae (Sweat) Crawford and entered eternal life on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the age of 77 years. James spent his childhood in the Konawa area and attended Konawa High School. He later moved to California where he met and married Jeffie Mae Garmany on October 9, 1949 at Pacific Grove, California. James learned the roofing trade and became a roofer and business agent for the Roofer’s Union Local # 50 in Monterey, California. The couple moved to Pauls Valley in 1970 where James owned James Roofing and Valley Roofing. He was a member of the Paoli Pentecostal Church. The highlight of Jame’s life was to provide things for his wife, children and grandchildren that he thought they would really like to have. James taught his children the importance of hard work, doing a good job and staying with the job until it was completed. His hobbies were camping, fishing, hunting and traveling the United States. He was an avid antique collector, especially butter churns. Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jane Crawford in 1962; granddaughter Jamie L. Crawford in 1980 and twin granddaughters Jennifer and Jessica Montgomery in 1988. Survivors include: Wife: Jeffie Crawford of the home 2-Sons and their wives: Jerry A.and Julie Crawford of Nampa, Idaho John D. and wife Neva Jo Crawford of Pauls Valley 1-Daughter and her husband: Jennifer and Dixon Montgomery of Pauls Valley 3-Grandsons: Jerry A. Crawfrod Jr of Caldwell, Idaho, James A.(Tony) and Jared L. Montgomery both of Pauls Valley. 2-Granddaughters: Christy L. Chandler and husband Shawn of Pauls Valley and Jadyn B. Montgomery of Norman. Greatgrandchildren: Quentin J. and Abbi N. Montgomery of Pauls Valley 2-Brothers and their wives: Elmo and Connie Crawford of Paoli Tommy Crawford and Debbie of Enid 1-Sister: Viola Mills of Oklahoma City Numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Crawford are scheduled for Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Erwin officiating.
