J. R. Barnes of Wynnewood, Oklahoma was born to John Richard and Grace (Truman) Barnes on March 28, 1937 in Roady, Oklahoma and passed from this life on December 10, 2017 at the age of 80 years.
J. R. grew up and attended school at Roady, Oklahoma. He graduated from Wynnewood High School. J. R. worked for Kerr-McGee for 20 years, retiring in 1980. He was a "real" cowboy, being a rancher all of his life. Ranching was his pride and joy.

5 grandchildren: Bradley Barnes, John Richard Barnes, Heath Chappell, Jack and Hanna Williams
9 great-grandchildren: J. W. Barnes, Morgan Barnes, Josie Barnes and Jace Barnes; Sidney Grace Covington and Avery Covington; Faith Chappell, Will Chappell; and J. R. Barnes

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Katie Victory Baptist Church with Bro. Johnny Beckham officiating.
