In Loving Memory of Glenn Darrell Owen
May 25, 1938 – April 7, 2025
Glenn Darrell Owen, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025 at the age of 86 years. Born on May 25, 1938, in Marlow, Oklahoma, to Max and Joyce (Hobson) Owen, Glenn's life was a testament to hard work, faith, and family.
Raised mainly in California, Glenn spent many summers back home in Marlow, Oklahoma with his grandparents Lark and Elsie Hobson, a very cherished time in his life.
At 12 years of age Glenn rebuilt his first engine in his dad's mechanic shop under his dad's careful watch. Also at 12 years of age he and his dad were baptized together, a special memory and time for Glenn and his dad.
Glenn and his wife Ginger were blessed with the birth of daughter Gale in 1957, and Glenn also began a 20 year career with the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad. In 1963 daughter Gwen was born. Gale and Gwen were always a joy to this proud dad. While working for the railroad, Glenn had a reputation as a poet, mainly cowboy poems.
After retirement from the railroad, Glenn took his family to Canada and embarked on a new life outside of the U.S. for 12 years. In Canada he bought land and built his own home and horse ranch. A great joy was "Conti" (Continental Dream) a champion stud that he raised from a colt that won many shows. He approached every chapter of his life with dedication, integrity, and an ability to talk to anyone around him.
On February 4, 2019, Glenn married Wilda (Hobson) Owen in Mena, Arkansas, and together they shared a bond rooted in love and a shared belief in God.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Wilda of the home; Daughters, Gale and family and Gwen and family residing in Florida, and Brother Don Owen who resides in Idaho.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Joyce Owen, and sister, Joan.
