Glenda Marie Atchley

Glenda Marie Atchley of Wanette, OK was born to Leonard Leroy and Edna C. Milburn Pickering, April 8, 1939 in Mangum, OK and entered eternal life on Monday , March 12, 2018 at the age of 78 years.
She grew up in Mangum where she attended Reed School and graduated from Wanette High School. She went to work for Vaughn Oil Field Production as a secretary. Glenda married T.D. Atchley on May 9, 1959 at the First Baptist Church in Wanette, OK. She was the City Clerk for the city of Wanette for many years; owned her own restaurant for a time; and bookkeeper for Tom's Transmission; a good wife and a good mother. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She spent many happy hours crocheting, reading, working crossword puzzles, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Her family was the highlight of her life and especially her grandkids. She taught others to love and not hate, have compassion, and always tell the truth.

16 Grandchildren and 24 Great-grandchildren
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 15, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wanette Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Jim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Wanette Cemetery.
