Obituary

Gerald Duane Beck, 68 of Maysville OK, died July 11, 2020 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Gerald was born December 13, 1951 to Duane and Donna Beck in Broken Bow NE. He graduated from Oconto High School in 1971.
Gerald married Cheryn Krone on January 29, 1977. They were blessed with 2 sons, Travis and Chaunci.
He began his career as a cowboy and rancher in the Sandhills of Nebraska with a few variations and career changes along the way. They moved to Oklahoma in 2003, but as he said, once a Cornhusker, always a Cornhusker. His true love was team roping and rodeo which was the family 'way of life' as the boys grew up. As Chaunci says," He was born a cowboy, lived as a cowboy and died a cowboy".
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Don and Loretta Beck, Carroll and Madge Hill, In-laws, Ed and Audrey Krone, and brother-in-law Kim Stevens.
Survivors include: wife, Cheryn of Maysville OK; Son Travis (Jessica) of Pauls Valley OK; Son Chaunci (Erica) of Ponchatoula LA; Parents, Duane & Donna Beck of Oconto NE; Sister Patricia (Dean) Pennington of Laguna Vista TX; Brother Cody Beck of Oconto NE. Grandchildren: Brendan and Riley Beck of Ponchatoula LA and Summer King of Fort Worth TX.
Gerald truly lived this quote. "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out shouting…Holy Cow! What a Ride".
