Dorothy Jean (Teel) Layton was born on April 8, 1933 in Cache, Oklahoma to Merl Lee Teel and Viola Gertrude Gossage. Dorothy passed from this life on January 26, 2024 in Sulphur, Oklahoma at the age of 90.
Dorothy attended school in Stonewall and Ada Oklahoma. She was married to Marvin "Dude" Layton on July 6, 1959 in Wynnewood Oklahoma. During her life she was a homemaker and she loved painting, crocheting, gardening, canning, and planting flowers. Dorothy was a member of Victory Lighthouse.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Becky Knighten of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; sister in laws, Sylvia Brooks of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Barbara Teel of Florida, Angela Teel of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin "Dude" Layton; parents Merel Tell and Viola Gertrude Gossage; son, David Layton; Brothers, John Teel, Fred Teel, William Teel, Ed Teel, Floyd Teel, and Perry Teel; sisters, Ethel Nelson, Elsie Cypert, Jewell Hughes, Beatrice Teel, and Genevia Teel.
