Obituary

Donnie Wayne Baker passed from this life on October 18, 2024 at 73 years old after a long battle with cancer. He was born August 15,1951 in San Bernardino, California to Nick and Betty Baker.
He loved to run around in the country, up and down creeks as a young boy and he loved going fishing and hunting with his friends.
While he went to school at Walker, he played basketball and was part of the track and field team running long distance. He was the highest high jumper in the school. After Walker, he went to Pauls Valley High School. After high school, he owned his own business delivering produce from Okla. City to restaurants in the Pauls Valley area including Ruby's Café which is still in business. He was also a truck driver and a derrick operator in the oil field. He hauled hay and was a farmer later in life. He loved horses and cared for them for a local rancher. He used to say he did all the things that country boys do.
Donnie was always there for friends and family whether it was fixing a flat tire, giving someone a ride or helping on a farm. He liked fixing things. He taught those he loved to be kind and kindness would come back to them and to treat people the way they wanted to be treated. If Donnie could have done anything differently in his life, he would have brought back his family life to teach his children respect so when they grew up, they would practice it and instill values in future generations with hopefully less government influence.
Donnie is survived by his son, Brendon Baker, daughters, Glenna Norman, Latia Humston, Sara Baker, brother, Terry Baker, sisters, Shirley Currie, Patty Embree, Midge Casner, 1 aunt, Georgia Wilson, nieces, nephews, cousins, 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Betty Baker and sister, Ramona Elliott.
