Obituary

Carolyn Sue Kilcrease Looney, born May 7, 1946, in Ft Worth, Texas to Karl "Bill" and Mildred "Mickie" Kilcrease, passed from this life on September 26, 2026, in Davis, Oklahoma.

Carolyn married the love of her life, Clifford "Joe Don" Looney, on April 16, 1971. Together, they built a life centered on family, hard work, and countless memories. They shared 55 years of marriage before Joe Don's passing in July 2026.

Together, Carolyn and Joe Don raised two children, a daughter, Sherry, and a son, Chris. Carolyn worked hard throughout her life, serving as a home healthcare provider and working at Sequoyah Mills in Davis, where she met Joe Don. She later worked for Halliburton in Duncan until her retirement.

Carolyn was a member of the Elmore City Church of Christ.

Carolyn found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved flowers and treasured the quiet of early mornings spent sitting in her backyard, enjoying the peaceful beginning of a new day.

Of all the roles Carolyn held throughout her life, none meant more to her than those within her family.

While Sherry and Chris attended Pernell Schools, Carolyn served for several years on the school board. She was actively involved in her children's lives and took great pride in watching them grow.

When her grandchildren came along, Carolyn found a whole new kind of happiness. Being Granny was one of the greatest joys of her life.

Her grandchildren were her world, and some of their sweetest memories were made in the ordinary moments they shared with her. She loved cooking for them, taking them shopping, having silly sleepovers, and turning holidays into occasions they would remember long after they were grown. If there was an excuse to gather the family, spoil the grandkids, cook something good, or turn an ordinary day into a celebration, Carolyn was ready.

Then came her great-grandchildren, and Granny's heart somehow found room to grow even bigger.

Those babies brought tremendous joy to her life. Playing with them could brighten her entire day, and seeing them was often all it took to bring a smile to her face. To Carolyn, there was simply nothing better than having her family close.

Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were not merely part of Carolyn's life—they were the center of it. The meals she cooked, the holidays she made special, the sleepovers, shopping trips, laughter, hugs, quiet mornings, and countless little moments she created for them will become the stories her family tells for generations.

Carolyn's life was built around the people she loved. After 55 years of marriage to Joe Don, there is comfort in imagining that their separation was a short one and that they are together once again.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford "Joe Don" Looney; her son-in-law, Jim Griffin; her granddaughter, Miranda Looney; a great grandson, Harlen Looney, her parents, Bill and Mickie Kilcrease; and her brother, Robert Kilcrease.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Sherry Griffin of Hennepin; her son, Chris Looney and wife, Christy, of Elmore City; her grandson, Rowdy Looney and wife, Kimberlin, of Elmore City; her granddaughter, Albyrni Looney and wife, Sharla, of Wynnewood; and her granddaughter, Tiffany Griffin of Duncan.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Khloi Crawford, Harley McCoy, Lloyd Taylor, Claiten Duncan, Cydney Sotelo, Madison Sotelo, and Jacoby Day; and her great-great-grandchildren, Jayce, Jakai, and Griffin and her brother, Kameron Kilcrease and wife, Nelda, of Elmore City and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn will be deeply missed by the family and friends who loved her, but the love she poured into them throughout her lifetime will remain. In every family gathering, every holiday made special, every meal shared around a table, and every quiet morning when the flowers are blooming, there will be reminders of Momma and Granny—and a lifetime of memories to keep her close.
