Billy Jo Justus

Billy Jo Justus, a hardworking, big-hearted, and quietly wise man, passed away surrounded by love in his home on May 20, 2025 at the age of 48. Born on November 26, 1976, in Healdton, Oklahoma, Billy was raised by his devoted father, Boyd Gene Justus, who instilled in him the values of perseverance, grit, and loyalty. In 1998, Billy married the love of his life, Christina Renea Justus, at Velma Baptist Church. Together, they built a life rooted in family, faith, and simple joys. As a boy, Billy was ornery and rough around the edges — full of life and always on the move. He loved fishing and spent his younger years getting into mischief and exploring the outdoors. That love for fishing never left him. As he grew older, Billy poured his energy into farming, raising animals, and living close to the land. His bond with his animals, especially a calf named Starlight and his beloved Boston Terrier, Buddy, spoke volumes about his gentle and caring nature. Billy but found his true calling as a roofer — a trade he committed himself to for the rest of his life. Whether under the hot Oklahoma sun or teaching someone new, he brought the same relentless drive and quiet pride to his work. Known for his wisdom and no-nonsense advice, Billy lived by the words, “One foot in front of the other.” He taught those around him not to give up — and that nothing was worth crying over. To those who knew him best, he was the wisest man they had ever met. Family was the highlight of Billy’s life. He took pride in being a father and grandfather, and he often said he wanted his boys to grow up to be just like him. His cooking was legendary — chili, lasagna, cheese dip, pecan pie, and pineapple upside-down cake brought everyone together, made with love and often served with laughter. Billy leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering love for those he held dear. He will be missed deeply and remembered always. Billy is survived by his wife of the home, Christina Renea Justus; Sons, Dakota Justus of Ada, Oklahoma, Kyle Justus of Seminole, Oklahoma; Daughters, Rebecca Justus of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Natashia Pedigo of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Cole Justus, Kolesyn Justus, Hazel Shaver, Jason Ruth; Picked by him Grandchildren, Emily, Lucille, and Gary Wayne Blankenship; and a host of other family and friends. Bily was preceded in death by his Father, Boyd Gene Justus; Grandsons, Matthew Rae Dale Towler, and Hayden Dale Jo Towler; and Sister, Carrie Dawn Selzer. Memorial services for Billy will be on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
