Betty Jo Spivey

Betty Jo (Driskill) Spivey was born on October 10, 1928 in Wallville, Oklahoma to James Burl Driskill and Stella Maude (Brantley) Driskill. Betty passed from this life on November 14, 2024 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Betty grew up in the Wallville community and attended Hughes schools. She married the love of her life, Lloyd Harold Spivey on September 15, 1951 in Gainesville, Texas. Betty worked for Crabtree Drug then went on to work at Wackers as a clerk. After her time at Wackers she decided to stay home and take care of her grandchildren as well as others until her later years when she worked for the Washita Valley Nursing Home, Pauls Valley Public Library, Dollar General, and the Fashion Store. Betty was a member of Beaty Baptist Church in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, she loved to travel and ride any roller coaster she could find. She loved going out to eat, playing games like dominos, rummy, solitaire, and many others. After Betty’s retirement she spent the majority of her time taking care of her great grandchildren. Her family said Betty made the best cheeseburgers, fried taters, fried chicken and meatloaf, but nothing compared to her Texas sheet cake. Her grandchildren would tell you that her biscuits & gravy, and pancakes and bacon were the best they’ve ever had and no one ever left Nana’s house hungry. Betty’s daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren loved the stories that she told to them of her time growing up, Betty’s family was the highlight of her life. She always made sure to tell them to love Jesus, to love life, to spend time with family, and most importantly how to win at chicken foot. Betty will be missed by so many. Betty is survived by her daughter, Brenda Jo Anderson and husband Mike; Sisters, Patsy Price, Glenna Terrell; Grandchildren, Brandon Maness and wife Sarah, Amber Cranford and husband Quinton, Erica Givhan, Robert Anderson and wife Lisa; Great grandchildren, Aja and Cory Wiegert, Skylar and Darby Cranford, Carter, Cash, and Cooper Maness, Hunter and Ty Anderson, Chloe and Lexie Givhan, and Great- great Grandson, Dasyn Wiegert. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Harold Spivey; Parents, James Burl and Stella Maude (Brantley) Driskill; Brothers, Donald Driskill, James Driskill and wife Norma; Sisters, Vera White and husband Willard, and June Driskill. Services for Betty will be on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with Lynn Phillips officiating. Pending weather, interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
