Ardis Colleen Flanagan, 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of April 19, 2023.
Ardis was born on March 4, 1930 to James and Lodema Henthorn in Nickerson, Kansas. She was the middle sister to Beverly and Beth Henthorn.
Ardis graduated from Chickasha High School in 1948. She continued her education at the Enid General Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating from nursing school, she began her career at Lindsey Memorial Hospital. While living in Maysville she met Pat Flanagan of Pauls Valley. Ardis and Pat were married on November 29,1951 at the Pauls Valley United Methodist Church where they stayed devoted lifelong members of the congregation. They were married for over 55 years at the time of Pat's passing in 2006. Ardis retired from Pauls Valley General Hospital after 25+ years as a surgical nurse. She lived at her beloved house on S. Lowe Street for over 61 years.
Ardis is survived by many generations of nieces and nephews.
Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley will open viewing on Wednesday and Thursday, April 26 and 27, during the times of 9am to 4:30pm. Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, April 28th, 2023 at 1:00pm at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, officiated by Pastor Angie Fleming.
