Mary Ann Brister of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Issac Roy and Dovie Lorraine (Roberts) Shirley on May 21, 1942 and passed from this life on June 25, 2014 at her home in Elmore City, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years. Mary Ann grew up and attended school in Elmore City, Oklahoma. On October 20, 1958, Mary Ann married George E. Brister in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Together they made their home in Elmore City. She worked as a waitress for many years at Biscuit Hill and was a first responder for Elmore City Emergency Service. She also worked for Southwestern Bell and later AT&T. Mary Ann was a Girl Scout leader for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed bingo, school carnivals, and Friday night singings. The highlights of her life were her kids, grandkids, and most of all her husband, George. Mrs. Brister is survived by: Husband: George Brister of the home Son: Tony Brister and wife Vickie of Elmore City, Oklahoma Daughters: Carolyn Pettit of Elmore City, Oklahoma Jennifer Genereux and husband Derek of Wayne, Oklahoma Sister: Ruby Mae Turner of Elmore City, Oklahoma Grandchildren: Jessica Ran; David Daves of Elmore City, Oklahoma; Danny Pettit and Shelby Wyatt of Hemphill, TX; Austin Brister of Elmore City, Oklahoma; Katelyn Allen and husband Andrew of Jacksonville, North Carolina; Sarah Brister of Elmore City, Oklahoma; Gavin, Aiden, and Sophia Genereux of Wayne, Oklahoma; Time Brewer of Duncan, Oklahoma and Lindsay King of Midland, TX. great-grandchildren: Christian King and Laedin Wyatt many nieces, nephews, family and friends Mrs. Brister was preceded in death by: Her parents: Issac and Dovie Shirley Son-in-law: Donald Pettit in 2003 Grandson: Alexander Jacob Brister Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Elmore City First Baptist Church with Joe Terrell officiating.
