JIMMY ALVIN COTTRELL Jimmy Alvin Cottrell of Yukon, Oklahoma passed away January 13, 2018 peacefully in his home at the age of 87 years. Jimmy was born May 8, 1930 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to Johnnie and Dixie Cottrell. Jimmy and Mattie Cottrell had 2 children, daughter Debbie English and son, David Cottrell. Four grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Jimmy moved to Yukon in 1993 and married Anna Raymond and had two stepchildren: Sharla Thurman and Joshua Raymond and four grandchildren. Jimmy served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1951 where he served in Germany and was a postal clerk in Europe. Jimmy was a retired teamster driving for Transcon and Yellow freight covering 3 million miles accident free before retiring in 1995. Jimmy was also recognized in 1972 by the Governor of the State of Arizona for attempting to save a child from a burning car. His favorite hobbies were collecting rocks and scavenging garage sales. He collected rocks from every state he traveled through. Jimmy was a jack of all trades and could literally fix anything. Cottrell Sister: Corrine Grimes He is survived by: Wife: Anna Cottrell of the home Daughter: Debbie and husband Steve English of Paoli, Oklahoma Son: David and wife Anita Cottrell of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma Step-daughter: Sharla and husband Josh of Amarillo, Texas Step-son: Joshua and wife Tonya Raymond of Canyon, Texas sisters: Carolynn and husband Bobby Bonner of Missouri Linda Hunter of Norman, Oklahoma grandchildren: Jeremy and wife Kimberly Cottrell of Nashville, Tennessee April and husband Jered Cartwright of Ada, Oklahoma Brandon and wife Amy English of Paoli, Oklahoma Chad English of Paoli, Oklahoma Gracie and Christian Raymond of Canyon, Texas Brooklyn and Ashley Thurman of Amarillo, Texas Great-grandchildren: Kailee and Laney English of Paoli, Oklahoma Ethan and Loren Cartwright of Ada, Oklahoma Joshua Cottrell of Nashville, Tennessee Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with John Stevenson officiating.
