Helen Bernice Ball

December 1, 1920 - September 11, 2015

Helen Bernice (Ward) Ball passed away of natural causes on Friday, September 11, 2015, in Amarillo, Texas. Born on December 1, 1920 in Brady, Oklahoma to William H. and Lucy Ada Sherrill Ward, Helen was the youngest of eight children. She was preceded in death by her parents and all siblings: Faye brooks, Susan Simmons, Art Ward, Roy Ward, Mildred Scott, Emmett Ward and Edith Scott. She was active in church and community organizations throughout her life. Helen was a member of the Wynnewood First Baptist Church. Her interests were her family, helping others, gardening, cooking and shopping. She was always enthusiastic about life in general and was part of America's "Greatest Generation". On June 15, 1978, Ralph Ball, an architect originally from the State of Virginia, married Helen in Denver, Colorado. Ralph preceded her in death in 1997. Helen had two sons, Jack Brinkley and Freddie Beauchamp, who preceded her in death. She is survived by two granddaughters, four great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter, all of Amarillo, Texas. "Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow My life's been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a family's touch" Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood with Rev.
