Deanna Richardson Boney was born March 18, 1942 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to JR “Punch” Richardson Jr. and Anna Jane (Suggs) Richardson. She passed away September 20, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 79. Deanna grew up and attended school in Pauls Valley, graduating in 1960. She married John W. Garland in 1961 and spent the next 27 years raising her family in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She then moved back to her hometown where she worked at the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center. There, she met and married Steve Boney. Deanna and Steve were married for 30 years and at the time of her death were building their dream home in Eufaula, Oklahoma. During her lifetime she was involved in many activities including Camp Fire Girls, Cub Scouts, Rainbow Girls, Methodist Church UMW, BACA, and PEO. She had a zest for life, enjoying golf, bowling, fishing, reading, motorcycle riding, dancing, and playing marbles. Deanna was beautiful, funny, classy and the true definition of a lady. Her laugh was infectious. She loved her family with a passion, touched so many lives and set a true example for kindness, humility, and friendship. Her philosophy was “It is what it is!" Deanna was preceded in death by her mother and father and her grandson William Cole Garland. She is survived by her husband Steve Boney of the home; her children, Jennifer Garland Lucas and her husband Dallas of Austin, Texas, John “Hoot” Garland of Sulphur, Oklahoma, and Sarah Jane Garland-Stevens of Anadarko, Oklahoma; grandchildren include, Brittany Ross and her husband David, Taylor Gattinella and her husband Chris, Karis Lucas, Schley Zipprich and his wife Elena, Sage Metoxen and her husband Jacob, Shiann Johnson and her husband Jeremiah, and Garland Faith Stevens; 6 great grandchildren; sister Susan Richardson Thompson and her husband Ed; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Celebration of life will be held on Sunday September 26, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Mount Olivet Cemetery Pavilion. Services directed by Wooster Funeral Home.
