Urbane Aaron Jr.

Urbane Aaron Jr., 90, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025. He was born on November 2, 1934, in Temple, Texas, to Urbane Aaron Sr. and Willie Mae (Linkous) Aaron. Urbane graduated from Temple High School in 1953. After High School, Urbane proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Alaska for two years. Upon completing his service, he returned to Temple, Texas and began his career as a nurse aide at the VA hospital, dedicating himself to the care of others. On June 8, 1958, Urbane married the love of his life, Shirley Ann (Miller) Aaron, in El Campo, Texas. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, and family. Urbane and his father-in-law, Harry Miller, ran a successful business, M&A Auto Parts, in El Campo, Texas. Urbane worked for our Pastor John Parks landscaping and after working with him dad always had magnificent landscaping at his own home. Over the years, Urbane also worked in maintenance at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas, Sam’s Club in Grand Prairie, Texas, and Walmart in Lancaster, Texas. After Urbane retired he worked part time for his son Paul Aaron at Advantage Balloons making deliveries and picking up supplies for about 5 years. A man of many passions, Urbane loved fishing, RV camping, and telling his life story to anyone willing to listen. He never met a stranger. He found joy in sharing time with his family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. His faith was central to his life, and he never missed an opportunity to tell others about Jesus. Urbane was known for sharing scripture daily, even posting a message of faith on Facebook the day before his passing. Urbane taught his children Godly morals and to walk upright before the Lord. He was always telling his children that they were just pilgrims passing through. He also led the singing in his church for years. He loved Gospel music. Urbane’s unwavering faith, warm storytelling, and love for others leave an enduring legacy. Rest in peace, Urbane. Your light and love will never be forgotten. Urbane is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Ann (Miller) Aaron; Son, Paul Aaron and wife Jennifer; Daughters, Brenda Johnson and husband Rodney, Rhonda Slayden and husband Michael; Sisters, Sarah Sellers, Terry Hupprich and husband Steve; Grandchildren, Brandon Aaron and wife Meredith, Kolton Aaron, Nathan Slayden, Shannon Allison; and Great-Grandson, Brennen Allison. Urbane was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Billy Ray Aaron, Burl David Aaron, Tommy Gene Aaron; Sisters; Gertie Larkin, Bobbie Carnes, and Joy Lou Elkins; Daughter-in-law, Karla Hughey Aaron. Services for Urbane will be Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Lone Star Cowboy Church in Red Oak, Texas at 1011 East Ovilla Road with Donnie Carpenter officiating. Interment will be immediately following at Red Oak Cemetery in Red Oak, Texas. Visitation for Urbane will be Monday, January 13, 2025 at Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
