Terry Allen Stanley

TERRY A. STANLEY Terry Allen Stanley of Foster, Oklahoma was born to Orville and Geraldine (Hunt) Stanley on June 1, 1954 in Flora, Illinois and passed from this life on December 30, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years. Terry grew up and attended school in Flora, Illinois. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era and later attended Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Illinois. On August 3, 1974, Terry married Carla Flexter in Cisne, Illinois. In 2003, Terry retired from Chevron-Texaco after 23 years with the company. He was currently working as an off shore maintenance supervisor for the Wood Group. He was a member of the Elmore City First United Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed taking care of his horses and teaching his grandkids about farm life. The highlights of his life were his family and grandchildren. Terry was funny and strong. His quick-wit and honest heart made people feel immediately comfortable and connected. He could fix anything and almost always had the part you needed. His fun and spontaneity kept life memorable. His fiery spirit protected his family, but his soft-spoken wisdom pushed them on the right path. Mr. Stanley is survived by: Wife: Carla Stanley of the home Son: Derek Stanley and wife Jacey of Elmore City, Oklahoma Daughter: Dusti Austin and husband Trey of Littleton, Colorado 3 brothers: Loy Stanley and wife June of Valparaiso, Indiana Orville Stanley of Flower Mound, Texas Ron Stanley and wife Barb of Wesson, Mississippi 3 sisters: Shirley Burdine of Flora, Illinois Jencie Thompson and husband David of Clay City, Illinois Trudy Hurd and husband Ronnie of Flora, Illinois Papa to 7 grandchildren: Kylie Austin, Zane Austin, Cole Austin, Devin Stanley, Levi Austin, Katelynn Stanley and Elyse Austin Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by: His parents: Orville and Geraldine Stanley 2 sisters: Patty Fulk and Joy Murphy Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Elmore City First United Methodist Church.
