Sharon Kay Mars

Sharon Kay Mars of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Ozzie and Effie (Coppenbarger) Musgrove on January 6, 1947 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior at her home on December 22, 2021 in Pauls Valley at the age of 74 years. Sharon was born the youngest of 7 girls with her closest sister being 14 years older, so she grew up with nieces and nephews as playmates. Sharon met the love of her life, Everett Mars, at a carnival in 1962. On January 19, 1963, Sharon and Everett eloped to Mena, Arkansas starting a life of 56 years of love, family, and adventures. January 1969 brought the birth of their first child, Chris with Angie coming along in December of 1973. Sharon spent her life caring for others. Most of Sharon's early life was spent as a stay-at-home mom and wife. Always having a welcoming home, a meal on a set table, running her kids to their various activities, and always a couple or more dogs in the mix! Family, faith, and serving others sums Sharon up quite nicely. Sharon adored her husband and doted on him. She loved her kids, but grandkids brought a new level of spoiling to the mix! Life threw ups and downs at her, but her warrior spirit and faith in Jesus never allowed those downs to keep her down. In her own words she would proclaim "ah, I'm a tough old bird!" Her final months of life would surely prove that to be true. A hard road of hospital stays, but finally coming home at the beginning of October where she got to sit in her recliner, love on her dogs, be surrounded by her loved ones. She was loved and cared for by her family and most especially by her grandson, Alic. Even as her mind would have foggy days, she always knew who her family was, always saying I love you and thank you, and never wavering that when she left this earth she was going to be with Jesus. All of our days on earth are numbered, but Sharon lived a full and wonderful life and we know she was met in Heaven and got to hear Jesus say well done good and faithful servant. Sharon is survived by her son Chris E. Mars and wife Misty of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and daughter Angie Campbell and husband Bub of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, both of whom live just down the road from her. Sister-in-law: Lea Donaldson and husband Bob of Edmond, Oklahoma 8 grandchildren: Dylan Mars, Alic Long, Clarissa Mars, Adam Lambert, Craig Campbell, Macie Johnson and husband Ty, Cole Campbell, and Adyson Mars great-grandchild: Josie Grace Sharon had numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Sharon was preceded in death by her best friend and husband Everett Mars, her parents, and great grandson, Oliver Johnson. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 27, 2021 at Wooster Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Henry officiating.
