ROBERT GREGORY POORTER Robert Gregory Poorter was born June 9, 1960 to Dr. Karl K. Poorter and Annie Laurie Dinkle in Sacramento, CA. He passed from this life on June 7, 2007 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 46 years. Greg attended Midwest City High School and Sanford Navel Academy in Florida. He was an accomplished body builder who enjoyed helping others obtain their goals by sharing his vast knowledge with them. Making people feel good about themselves was definently a quality he possessed. Besides being a personal fitness trainer, Greg was also employed in sales and telecommunications. Because of his love of people he always excelled in this arena. His bubbly personality was a great asset to him as well as to anyone who came into contact with him. Greg never met a stranger...to know him was to love him. Greg was a great storyteller and thrived on being the center of attention. He had a way of luring listeners to hang on his every word. He could always draw a crowd. He was a man of great pride Greg also valued his family and long time friends. Many of his friendships stem back 20 plus years. Children were one of his greatest joys. He loved to get the neighborhood kinds together and teach them to box. Greg enjoyed cooking especially for others. He could always come up with a new way to eat the same old thing! His greatest love of all was his son, Cody. If you ask him what his greatest accomplishment in life was...he would tell you....IT WAS MY SON. Greg was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Mama and Papa Dinkle. His paternal grandparents Granny and Big Daddy Poorter and his big brother Karl Kelly Poorter. Greg is survived by his son, Cody Krauter Poorter of Hollywood, CA formerly of Pauls Valley. His mother, Laurie Poorter of Dallas, TX. His father, Dr. Karl K. Poorter and his wife Betty of Georgetown, TX. Two sisters Penny Neville and her husband Michael of San Antonio, TX and Mendy Hassen of Katy, TX. One sister-in-law, Moch Littlefield of San Antonio, TX. Four nieces, Tammi Collins of San Antonio, TX, Shea Kummer and her husband Kyle of Grand Prairie, TX, Ashley Hassen of Katy, TX, and Alyssa Littlefield of San Antonio, TX. One nephew, Karl Kelly Poorter, Jr. and his wife Dabney of Denton, TX. Greg will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Private family services were held on Saturday, June 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ledbetter officiating. Interment was in the Mt.
