Richard Arthur Hollman

Richard Arthur Hollman of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Henry and Anna Hollman on January 20, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed from this life after a lengthy illness on July 2, 2006 at the V.A. Hospital in Sulphur, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years. He had made many good friends there who took very good care of him there during his stay. Richard was baptized on March 9, 1930 and was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church at St. John Lutheran Church of Okarche, Oklahoma on April 14, 1946 by Paul Hoyer, pastor at the church. Richard attended school in Okarche, Oklahoma before serving his country in the military. He served in three branches of the Armed Services. He held the title of Private 1st Class GR-6 of the 179th infantry of the Army National Guard. Richard enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1948 to 1952 and served in the Marine Corp from 1960 to 1964. Richard received several commendations while in the service. He served his country proudly and traveled extensively during his service to his country. After his discharge from the military, Richard worked at Robertson Steel Co. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for thirty-one years. He then moved to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and worked for Edward’s Canvas Co. until his retirement. Richard was a very independent person and lived alone all of those years. He was an avid reader and loved making things especially woodworking. Richard always enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, mechanics and his travels in life Mr. Hollman is survived by; 2 brothers: Carl Edward Hollman and his wife Ruby of Midwest City, Oklahoma Alfred John Hollman and his wife Glennita of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma 2 sisters: Velma Hollarn of Cyril, Oklahoma Marjorie Johnston and her husband Lovie of Blanchard, Oklahoma 1 sister-in-law: Nancy Hollman of Carbendale, Illinois 8 nephews and 7 nieces Mr. Hollman was preceded in death by; His father and mother, Henry Herman Hollman and Anna Edith Hollman 2 brothers: Paul Henry Hollman and Melvin Ernest Hollman Funeral services for Mr. Hollman are scheduled for Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Antioch Cemetery, Antioch, Oklahoma.
