Phillip "Phil" Edward Hightower Jr.

Phillip(Phil) Edward Hightower, Jr. was born to Ed and Willie Hightower in Oklahoma City on November 01, 1943 and passed from this life on April 17, 2023 at the age of 79 years. Phil graduated from Hughes High in 1961 as valedictorian. After graduation he worked for his father’s home construction company. Phil married Pat Blundell in July of 1966 and served in the National Guard for 6 years. He proudly served as a U.S. mail carrier for 31 years and was a beloved Lindsay School bus driver. Phil enjoyed bird hunting various types of birds and introducing his grands and greats to hunting. Phil loved to play and coach softball and baseball. Attending all kinds of sporting events was one of his favorite things to do. Phil was often found in the floor giving the kids horseback rides. He was an avid reader and at times a comedian. Phil was often seen pulling weeds in his yard or growing and sharing tomatoes. Most importantly, Phil loved his Lord and serving him. He was a Bible class teacher, deacon and elder. Phil is survived by: Wife – Pat Daughters – Jamie Hart and husband Kelly of Edmond; Anita Parker and husband Tim of Lindsay Son – Phillip Hightower III and wife Becky of Caddo Grandchildren – Kristopher Hart and wife Alyssa of Edmond; April Crawley and husband Seth of Glide, OR; Autumn Work and husband Jarod of Lindsay; Megan Dufur and husband Casey of Durant; Aubrey Dorman and husband Dalton of Lindsay; Cole Lambert and Morgan of Tushka; Alaina Gamble and husband Dalton of Lindsay; and Tanna Hightower of Caddo Greatgrandchildren – Britton Firth and husband Ben of Tulsa; Camdyn Miller and husband Yohannes of Oklahoma City; Samuel Hart of Edmond; Austen and Abel Crawley of Glide, OR; Caycen Work of Lindsay; Stockton and Lindey Dorman of Lindsay; Gatlin Gamble of Lindsay; Jet Dufur of Durant; Presleigh Herring and Reid Lambert of Tushka Sisters – Shirley Rush and Donna Covington Numerous nieces and nephews Phil was preceded in death by his parents Phillip Edward Hightower, Sr. and Willie and by his brother, Harold Hightower The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Attn: Oklahoma Chapter, 9370 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63132. You will need to include a note indicating who the gift is in memory of. On that note, include the name and mailing address of the person you would like to be notified. (Ex. “This gift is in memory of Jane Smith. Please notify Bob Smith of (her husband) of this gift at 111 Starlight Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73102”). This will allow the memorial donations to go toward Walk, but this way our Donor Services team can handle notifying the family for you so you don’t have to. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lindsay Church of Christ with Minister Christian Torres and Larry Winn officiating.
