Mia Sasha Tapia

Mia Sasha Tapia was born on September 25, 2007 in Norman, Oklahoma to Roberto and Rosalba “Rosie” (Colmenares) Tapia. Mia passed from this life on March 11, 2024 in her home in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma surrounded by those who loved her at the age of 16. Mia was very active, she loved swimming, playing basketball, tennis, and softball. Mia looked at everything with so much passion in her eyes, she loved so hard. She always said that when she was an adult she was going to be a pediatrician because being a Veterinarian was not an option because she couldn’t stand the thought of not knowing what the animals were feeling. Mia played the saxophone in Whitebead’s band and loved all the friends she made there. She loved watching K-dramas, listening to K-pop, playing Roblox with her Whitebead friends, and creating all the new friendships at Pauls Valley High School. Mia was in the newspaper for student government, she excelled in her academics, she received the citizenship award, and was known for always caring about others before herself. Mia always saw the good in others even if there was no good to be seen. Mia’s favorite food was any sort of Korean food, Thai, and she loved Boba teas. Mia was selfless, a good person, and a great friend. She was compassionate, loved watching inspirational movies, and love monkeys – but not more than her sweet dog Chiquita. Mia will be missed by so many. Mia is survived by her parents Roberto and Rosalba “Rosie” (Colmenares) Tapia of the home, sister; Vivian Tapia of the home, Grandmother; Teresa Colmenares of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Aunts and Uncles; Freddy Colmenares of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Ismael Colmenares and wife Kayla Gilmore of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Jorge Lavariega and wife Magvis and daughter Alani of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Tona Tapia of Mexico City, Lilia Tapia of Mexico City, Laura Tapia of Mexico City, Vero Tapia of Mexico City, Ernesto Tapia of Mexico City, Ricardo Tapia of Mexico City, Fernando Tapia of Mexico City, and a host of other family and friends. Mia is preceded in death by her grandparents; Ismael Colmenares, Amando Tapia, and Ana Maria Manjarrez, and her aunts; Carmen and Lourdes Tapia. Services for Mia will be Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pauls Valley High School Auditorium in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. There will be a Rosary on Thursday night, March 14, 2024 at the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at 6:00 PM. Interment will follow the services Friday morning immediately going to Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
