Mary Patterson Jordan

Mary Patterson Jordan of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to John and Stella (Walker) Patterson on March 14, 1921 in Macreeville, Texas and passed from this life on October 18, 2009 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years. Mary grew up in San Saba, Texas and graduated from San Saba High School in 1938. She married Joseph Durwood Jordan on May 13, 1938. Mary and Joe moved 38 times during their marriage, settling in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma in June 1957 where they lived for the next 52 years. She was an active member of the Pauls Valley First Presbyterian Church. Mary was a good listener, a nurturing woman and had a firm and unshakable belief in Jesus Christ and lessons of eternal life. Mary lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed her church circle, loved to play and host bridge parties and donated approximately 4,000 hours to the Pauls Valley Hospital Auxiliary, of which she was a founding member. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing and cross-stitching. The most important thing she taught her family and friends was to live life to the fullest and never miss a chance to tell someone you love them. Mrs. Jordan is survived by: 1 Son: Joseph Peter Jordan of Phoenix, Arizona 2 Daughters: Mary Patricia Wood & her husband Hoyt of Midwest City, Oklahoma Carole Navarre & her husband Duane of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma 7 Grandchildren: Mary Leyba & husband Ray, Choctaw, OK; Joe Wood & wife Suzette, Norman, OK; Amy Wood, Norman, OK; Robert & Sam Navarre, Shawnee, OK; Susan Anderson & husband Mark, Phoenix, AZ; Tom Jordan & wife Danielle, Phoenix, AZ. 7 Great-grandchildren: Patti & Kristy Leyba, Oklahoma City; Ray Leyba Jr. & wife Amber, Choctaw, OK; Amanda Wood, Norman, OK; Sarah & Erin Wood, Mustang, OK; Lilly Mary Jordan, Phoenix, AZ. 3 Great-great-grandchildren: Braeden & Gavin Leyba, Choctaw, OK & Greysen Leyba, Oklahoma City Beloved Niece: Mary Jo Fiveash, Pauls Valley, OK Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by: Husband: Joseph Durwood Jordan Parents: John & Stella Patterson Brothers: Sam Walker Patterson & John William Patterson Jr. A memorial service for Mrs. Jordan is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with Rev.
