Jerry D. Pyle

Jerry D. Pyle made his last trip across Arbuckle Lake on December 29th, 2020 with his family by his side. He turned in his worn out earth suit for a new heavenly one and assured everyone that he had accepted Christ as his Savior. He believed in having fun and spent the early years of his life camping, boating and snow skiing. He invented his own way to come up on a slalom water ski known as “The Pyle get up”, which took much dedication and endurance. His latter years were spent working and sustaining Oak Tree Ranch raising Hereford cattle. He graduated high school from Elmore City, OK., and worked as a barber to put himself through college, graduating from The University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in social work. Before retiring from DHS, he held numerous director positions and took pride in serving the citizens of Oklahoma. Jerry was born May 29th, 1946 to Mack and Helen Pyle. He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife Kay and one daughter Andrea “Sissy” Santine. He leaves behind 4 children: his son Steven Pyle, wife Brenda and their 2 children Whitley and Brady; daughter Carolyn Rogers, husband Mike and their children 3 children, Austin, his wife Shelby and their daughter Rowyn, Jerico, Kendal, Ethan Mize and their daughter Indy; son Chris Kerby, wife Kim and their 5 children, Taylor Beal and husband Chris, Lindsey Witkowski and husband Chris, Bailey, Kambel and Clint; daughter Vanessa Sorrels, her husband Dustin and their 2 children Mason and Millie. He also leaves behind one brother, Gearl Pyle and his wife Lou as well as many precious family members. When he was about to reach the end of his rope, he tied a knot and hung on as long as he could. At his request, the funeral will be at 8 a.m. on January 4th at the Elmore City cemetery so “everyone can move on with the rest of their day.” Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Graveside funeral services are scheduled for Monday, January 4, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. at the Elmore City Cemetery with Curtis Stubblefield officiating.
