Herb Reese

Herb Reese of Pauls Valley, OK was born February 25, 1935 in Oskaloosa, IA to Ralph and Rubie Ruth (Johnson) Reese and passed from this life on December 13, 2006 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 71 years. Herb grew up on a farm in Iowa and graduated from high school in Oskaloosa, IA. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force. On April 20, 1957 Herb married Jacqueline Niblett in Wynnewood. He managed several meat markets before opening his own business in Pauls Valley, which he operated almost 25 years, retiring in 1996. Herb was a square dance caller and he and Jackie enjoyed spending time together square dancing. His hobbies also included playing golf , cards and singing. He regularly spent time singing at the nursing homes. The highlight of his life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of God in Pauls Valley and a member of the Gideons. He considered serving the Lord an important part of his life and taught his family to be kind and helpful to others, to be happy in whatever life deals you. Mr. Reese is survived by: His wife: Jacqueline of the home 1 Son: Douglas Reese and his wife Joan of Austin, TX 2 Daughters: Karen Crouch of Blanchard, OK Brenda Melton and her husband Roger of Wynnewood, OK 1 Brother: Ted Reese of New London, IA 1 Sister: Mary Ellen Link and her husband Rodney of Illinois 8 Grandchildren: Amber McCoy Brandon Crouch Jason Crouch Heather Reese Christopher Reese Brad Shaw Travis Shaw Amanda Melton 5 Great-Grandchildren Mr. Reese was preceded in death by: His parents: Ralph and Rubie Reese His mother & father-in-law: Earnie & Marcia Niblett 2 Brothers: Ralph Reese and Lloyd Reese 1 Son-in-law: Jon Crouch 1 Granddaughter: Jennifer Lee Shaw Funeral services for Mr. Reese are scheduled for Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, OK, with Pastor Don Riepe and Pastor Patrick McCone officiating.
