Gary Dean Quantrille Sr.

Gary Dean Quantrille was born on September 27, 1936 in Wapato Washington to Ward Wendell and Mary Leona (Davenport) Quantrille. Gary passed from this life on May 7, 2024 in Elmore City, Oklahoma. Growing up Gary attended school at Wapato High School. He loved to go camping, loved to mow, going walking, sledding, tobogganing, and talking to everyone. He married the love of his life, Loretta on June 9, 1964 in Wapato Washington at the Baptist Church where during their marriage they had six children together. Gary was called a jack of all trades, he hauled lumber in Oregon and his children remember riding with him on his runs and getting to ride in the back and getting sawdust all over them on their way home. Mr. Quantrille worked for the City of Wynnewood in their Streets and Sanitation Department for a long time, the Perfection Hy-Test, and then eventually retired at 62 years old after working for the rest areas. The highlights of Mr. Quantrille’s life would be his kids and grandchildren as he was always very hands on and involved in everything from bike riding to camping to cooking their favorite meals like Chili, stew, and meatloaf. He loved taking trips to Seattle when they lived in Oregon and giving Loretta a hard time, but even though he did that one of their favorite things to do together was sit and watch their favorite TV shows. Gary will be missed by so many who loved him. Gary is survived by his wife, Loretta Lousie Quantrille of the home, Son; Gary Dean Quantrille Jr. of Portland, Oregon, Daughters; Trudy Lynn Gernheart of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Melanie Eileen Quantrille of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Sonia Elaine Smith of Velma, Oklahoma, Tonya Diane Combs and husband Michael of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Brother; Alan Quantrille of Wapato, Washington, Sister; Sharon Wright of Ontario, Oregon, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Gary is preceded in death by his Daughter; Sherrie Louise Quantrille, and Brothers; Wayne Quantrille and Charlie Quantrille. Services for Gary will be Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Visitation will be on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
