Gary Duonne Moore

Gary Duonne Moore was born on August 14, 1940 to Edward Anderson (Sonny) and Alpha Marvene (Dill) Moore in Pernell, Oklahoma. Gary passed from this life on October 27, 2024 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at 84 years. Growing up Gary attended Pernell Schools in Oklahoma and graduated from Pernell High School in 1958. Gary went on to college to pursue a degree in Agricultural Education attending; Murray State College in 1960, Oklahoma State University in 1964 for his Bachelor’s in Agriculture, and obtaining his Master’s Degree from Oklahoma State University in 1970 for Agriculture Education. During his college career he married the love of his life, Norma Jean (Courtney) Moore on June 29, 1962 in Elmore City, Oklahoma and together they had two children, Marty and Marla. In his career he managed the farmers co-op in Winnsboro, Texas right out of college then went on to be an Ag Teacher and spent 32 years of his life doing that in Panama, OK., Westville, OK., Jenks, OK., and he would retire in Bowlegs, OK. In 2000. Gary was a member of the Church of Christ in Elmore City, Oklahoma and in his spare time he loved working with his horses and cattle, going to garage sales, and reading western novels. Gary’s family mentioned that they loved the different things that he would cook, but loved his Grilled Steak and BBQ smoked sausage with baked potatoes, and his stew the most. Gary was always a family man, and the highlights of his life were teaching and helping kids learn about AG and more importantly teaching his grandchildren about AG and life, he always told them to keep working and never quit. Gary is survived by his Son, Marty Moore of Elmore City, Oklahoma; Daughter, Marla Wright and husband Jodie of Lindsay, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Amber Coon and husband Braeden of Perry, Oklahoma, Cody Wright of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Morgan McGuffin and husband Brant of Lindsay, Oklahoma; Great-grandchildren, Maezlynn Taylor, Blakely Robertson, Briggs McGuffin and Baby Callen Coon. Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean (Courtney) Moore and his parents, EA (Sonny) and Marvene (Dill) Moore. Services for Gary will be on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with Reverend Mike Johnston officiating. Visitation for Gary will be On Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. – Friday, November 1, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Wooster Funeral Home in Elmore City, Oklahoma.
