Fred Allen Wright

Fred Allen Wright was born on March 1, 1938, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to John R. Wright and Bessie (Sloan) Wright. Fred passed from this life on December 7, 2024, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Fred grew up in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and attended Wynnewood schools where he graduated in1956. After high school he met the love of his life, Donna Joan (Osborn) Wright and the two were married on June 11, 1960, at the First Baptist Church of Cockrell Hill in Dallas, Texas, spending the next 64 years together. In September of 1960, Fred joined the United States Army for a brief time, then transferred to the United States Army National Guard where he was in helicopter maintenance. Fred became President of the Jaycees Club in 1964. Upon leaving the military in 1965, Fred worked as a machinist and supervisor for various companies. In 1975, his dreams inspired him to open his own company, Fred Wright & Associates, specializing in the metal fastening manufacturing industry. He worked passionately in his role as an independent product and service sales representative on behalf of the manufacturing industry until he retired in 2004. Fred and Donna lived in Duncanville, Texas for 36 years; in White Bluff - Whitney, Texas for 8 years; and then moved back to Wynnewood, Oklahoma in 2008 to be near family. Fred loved traveling and his hobbies included golfing, hunting, water skiing, and RV camping. Family was the highlight of his life and took every opportunity to teach those he cared for about love and responsibility. He will be missed by so many. Fred is survived by his wife, Donna Joan (Osborn) Wright; sisters, Pauline Carlton of San Antonio, Texas; Audrey Ellen Rose of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; Lou Ella Byrne of Norman, Oklahoma; Peggy Ann Genn and husband Zeke of Fort Worth, Texas; Patsy Jean Orrick and husband Bill of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; John R. and Bessie (Sloan) Wright; Brothers, Robert Wright and wife Judy; Willie Wright and wife Eleanor; Jimmy Wright and wife Maudie Lee; Juel Bryan (J.B.) Wright; brothers-in-law Claude Rose and Danny Byrne. Visitation for Fred will be Tuesday December 10th and Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, from 9:00 A.M.-4:30 P.M. at Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Services for Fred will be Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with Pastor Coby Wright officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
