Anita F. McWhirter

Anita F. McWhirter of Maysville, Oklahoma was born to Lonnie Lee and Myrtle (Russell) Bennett on December 10, 1918 in Lindsay, Oklahoma and passed from this life on November 3, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years. Anita grew up and attended school in Hughes, Oklahoma and Alex, Oklahoma. On August 23, 1937, she married Earnest John “E. J. Cotton” McWhirter in Maysville, Oklahoma where they made their home. Anita was a homemaker and worked for the Purcell Municipal Hospital and Maysville Public School Cafeteria. She was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, fishing, cooking, sewing and gardening. Anita also enjoyed playing dominoes and spade. The highlights of her life were her children and grandchildren.
