Altus Prince

Altus Prince of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Harrison and Izora (Williams) Prince on March 20, 1936 in Elmore City, Oklahoma and passed from this life on December 2, 2014 in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years. He was the ninth of ten children. Altus graduated high school in Tatums, Oklahoma. He was baptized at an early age and was an ordained Deacon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Altus married Emma Scott on June 18, 2004 in Marietta, Oklahoma. They spent the last eleven years traveling, taking care of the home and his horses. They enjoyed date nights and family gatherings. He worked for Rainbow Bread in Denver, Colorado which he held this position for many years. Altus later worked for Sun Oil in Duncan, Oklahoma for many years. He was owner and operator of Altus Trucking, specializing in hauling asphalt and rock until his retirement. He will be remembered as faithful farmer and a man that loved his family. A favorite pastime was riding and surveying his land. Altus took pride in his land and was faithful to making sure it was taken care of. Much of his time was spent caring for his animals, especially his favorite horse, Rocky Road. Mr. Prince leaves to cherish his memory: His lovely wife Emma of the home 2 sons: Alfred of Elmore City, Oklahoma Maurice of Denver, Colorado 4 daughters: Barbara of Sapulpa, Oklahoma Rosetta of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Shanda of Lawton, Oklahoma Danielle of Denver, Colorado 2 step-sons: Erico of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma DeLon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 5 step-daughters: Debra of Duncan, Oklahoma Shelly of Lawton, Oklahoma Demetria of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Kimberly of Elmore City, Oklahoma LaTrisha (Randy) of Irving, Oklahoma Brother: Park Sr. (Marjorie) of Elmore City, Oklahoma 3 sisters: Otria McDade of Denver, Colorado Agnes Hasting of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Estella Gist of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 21 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Mr. Prince was preceded in death by: His parents: Harrison and Izora; three sisters: Evelyn, Evelean, and Ethelean; two brothers: Leroy and Tannish; three grandchildren: James, DaKayla, and Darlisha. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the Elmore City First Baptist Church.
