ALFRED B. IVY Alfred B. Ivy of Ft. Worth, Texas, former Duncan resident, was born May 8, 1918 in Foster, Oklahoma to Lonzo and Mamie (Johnson) Ivy and passed from this life on November 16, 2007 in Ft. Worth, Texas at the age of 89 years. Alfred attended school at Foster and Elmore City, Oklahoma. He was awarded the Purple Heart while serving his country in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. On February 2, 1946, Alfred married Normada Long in Gainesville, Texas. He worked at Hopeman Equipment as an industrial oil field mechanic for 25 years. After accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord, he faithfully served as a member of the Gospel Beams Church and later ar Bethel Assembly of God. He was known for his gentle spirit and kindness to all. He enjoyed reading his Bible, fishing, gardening and wood-working. Mr. Ivy is survived by: His wife – Normada Ivy of Ft. Worth, Texas His daughter – Pat Scott and her husband, Gary of Springdale, Arkansas His son – Gary Ivy and his wife, Brenda of Ft. Worth, Texas 4 Grandchildren – Kerri McDaniel of Springdale, Arkansas; Kyle Scott of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; Chris Ivy of Dallas, Texas; Dr. Mandy Ivy of Mobile, Alabama 2 Step-Grandchildren – Thomas Mejorado and Marcus Mejorado, both of Dallas, Texas 5 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Step-Great-Grandchildren Mr. Ivy is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Funeral services for Mr. Ivy will be held on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. View Full Gospel Church in Foster, Oklahoma with Rev. Bob Boles officiating. Interment will be in Elmore City Cemetery, Elmore City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. Serving the family as casket bearers will be Alton Hutto, Rod Isham, Ron Willis, Bob Pollock, Leo Jones, and Gary Lovett. The family will receive friends at Mt. View Full Gospel Church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on November 19, 2007 prior to the funeral services.
